How much do embroidered patches cost?

Embroidered patch prices vary significantly depending on design complexity, stitch count coverage, color changes, shape, durability requirements, and order quantity.

Summary

  • €1-2 patches exist — but only for simple, low stitch count designs
  • Professional company patches require more machine time, design digitizing and finishing
  • Prices differ because production differs
  • Comparing prices online without considering stitch count and detail level leads to false expectations
  • Size of a patch and coverage percentage are not the decisive factors

If you are unsure which option fits your needs, we are happy to explain the differences. You can use our Price Calculator or see the reference pricing below.

  • B2B Loyalty: Setup fees are usually 100% waived for orders of 50+ pieces.

You may see advertised prices such as “patches from €1–2”.
These prices usually apply only to very simple designs, low stitch density and high volumes.
Professional embroidered patches for uniforms are priced based on stitch coverage, detail level and durability requirements.
For this reason, final quoted prices often differ from headline figures.

Below we explain what different price levels typically include, so you can compare offers realistically and avoid disappointments. You can also see our real life patch examples with price-list tables.

What can be produced at around €1-2 per patch

At approximately €2 per patch, production is typically limited to basic specifications. This price level is suitable for:

  • Simple logo designs
  • 1-3 color changes
  • Low stitch density < 5000 stitches
  • Partial stitch coverage (open background) < 30%
  • Standard shapes (circles, rectangles)
  • Minimal edge finishing
  • Larger batch quantities (200+ pcs)

Typical use cases:

  • Promotional items
  • Event giveaways
  • Short-term use

At this level, designs often need to be significantly simplified, and durability is not intended for daily workwear.

Important: an 8 cm patch at €1.5 is not comparable to a detailed, full-coverage embroidered patch.
The size may be the same, but the production time and stitches count is not, may differ from 5 to 30 min per 1 item.

Why some patches cost more than €2

Professional embroidered patches for uniforms and repeated use require different production parameters. We hope the text and image below explains how patch price depends on different parameters, as you can see in this chart – the price per patch grows with the complexity and stitches count. Price increases are mainly driven by:

1. Stitch coverage, stitch count density and color changes

Full stitch coverage with high density significantly increases machine time and thread usage. Color changes add to this. An 8 cm patch can take:

  • a few minutes to stitch (simple design), or
  • 25–35 minutes to stitch (dense, detailed design)

2. Logo detail

Small text, fine lines, and complex shapes require:

  • careful manual digitizing
  • slower machine speeds, special needle and thread use
  • manual finishing

3. Backing type

Different backing options affect both material cost and production time:

  • Sew-on
  • Iron-on
  • Hook & loop

Why advertised “from €1–2” prices are not directly comparable

Prices advertised as “from €1–2” usually assume:

  • high quantities
  • minimal stitch density count
  • simplified designs even if this was not the way you planned initially
  • limited finishing

Final quoted prices often increase once the actual logo and usage requirements are reviewed. For this reason, patch prices cannot be compared by size and quantity alone.

How we price embroidered patches

Our quotations are based on:

  • actual stitch count coverage
  • required durability
  • backing and finishing
  • production time and color changes per 1 patch
  • our 10+ years of experience with business customers

This ensures consistent quality and repeatable results for professional use.

You are welcome to use our Price calculator tool or Request a custom quote.

To make evaluation easier, for certain orders we can prepare a sample patch based on your logo so you can assess size and appearance before deciding.

How to get an accurate price

To provide a realistic quotation, we usually need:

  • logo or design file
  • approximate patch size in cm (example 8 x 9 cm)
  • estimated quantity
  • preferred backing

This allows us to match the production level to your intended use — without surprises later.

Why do embroidered patch prices vary so much?

Because pricing depends on stitch coverage, stitch density, logo detail, backing type, and order quantity. Two patches of the same size can require very different production time and digitizing effort.

I don’t have a design. Only draft ideas. Can you help me?

Yes, we can help you to finalize the idea to the patch design concept, that might cost extra fee, usually still all is inside the setup cost.

Do you offer samples before production?

Yes. For suitable projects, we may prepare a sample patch visualization or the physical sample patch based on your logo to help you assess size and appearance before confirming production.

Are your patches produced in the EU?

Yes. Our embroidered patches are produced in the EU by us without third parties involved, ensuring consistent quality for the first and repeat orders, reliable lead times, patch samples, and compliance with European standards.

How can I get an accurate patch price quote?

To provide an accurate quote, we need:
– logo or design file
– approximate patch size in cm (example 8×5 cm)
– estimated quantity
– preferred backing
This allows us to match production to your intended use.

Can you make small volume or even 1 patch?

Yes, we can, but be prepared for the additional setup costs ranging from 15 to 50 euro depending on the design. Even for small 10 pcs batch the prices are usually better per item. For small teams we recommend ordering at least 25 pcs of embroidered patches.

How does order quantity affect the price per patch?

Higher quantities reduce the unit price because setup and machine preparation are spread across more patches. Small batches have higher per-unit costs.

What if the price is too high for me?

This is totally understood these days. In such situations we recommend customers to simplify the design (avoid small details and tiny lettering, reduce color count) – we can help you to simplify the design you have and achieve the price you need.

Why is my 8 cm patch more expensive than expected?

Patch size alone does not define cost. An 8 cm patch with full stitch coverage and fine detail and 10+ color changes can take 25–35 minutes of machine time per 1 single patch, which significantly increases production cost.

Is a €1–2 price for embroidered patch realistic?

Yes — but only for simple designs with low stitch density, limited detail, and usually larger quantities. These patches are typically intended for promotional or short-term use.

Why are “from €1–2” prices for embroidered patches often misleading?

These prices usually apply to very simple designs at high volumes and often exclude setup, backing upgrades, or finishing. Final prices frequently change after artwork review or a design may be significantly simplified.

What is the difference between promotional and uniform-grade patches?

Promotional patches use lower stitch density and are designed for occasional use. They also may be printed on fabric.
Uniform-grade patches use denser stitching, reinforced edges, and are made to withstand frequent washing and daily wear.

Which backing options affect pricing?

Backing options such as sew-on, iron-on, or hook & loop differ in material and handling requirements and therefore influence pricing. Sew on options is usually the most affordable while hook – loop patches are more expensive.
