Sponsor-Funded Patches for Student Associations

Every guild board runs into the same wall eventually: the merch everyone wants doesn’t fit the budget everyone has. Sponsor funding solves this without touching guild funds — a company covers the patch order, and in return gets a small logo patch on the sleeve for a year of visibility at every event. This is the plain version, meant to be forwarded to your treasurer.

How it works

1. Your guild identifies a company likely to say yes — an alumni-run business, a recruiting partner, a firm that already hires from your field
2. You send a short proposal: quantity, what the sponsor gets (a small logo or text patch alongside the guild’s own), and the cost they’d cover
3. We invoice the sponsoring company directly, with proper VAT handling — no personal payments and no cash moving through the guild’s account
4. Patches ship to the guild once approved and paid; the sponsor’s patch rides alongside the guild crest on every overall for the season

Why companies say yes

A patch that stays on every member’s overalls all year is cheap, durable visibility — no banner storage, no expiring booth fee, no design refresh. For companies recruiting from technical or business programmes, it’s a low-effort way to stay visible to exactly the students they want to hire.

What to put in the ask

Keep it short and specific: how many members, what the patch looks like, where it sits on the overall, and the total cost. Companies respond better to a fixed number than an open-ended “would you consider sponsoring us” — it’s an easier yes.
